Hey Guys!
Making that winter to spring wardrobe change doesn’t have to be hard! You can even still rock some of your winter attire well into spring, especially if you live in cooler climates. I have 7 super easy ways to make the switch. A little bit of trade this for that plus some great tips to get more wear out of some of those winter clothes.
I know I’m not alone in my excitement to usher in spring and bid adieu to winter. I’m ready to wear flowy pretty things and see flowers. I’ve already started pinning all kinds of spring outfit inspiration pictures. Check out my board here if you want to see what I’m feeling for spring! The one thing I will miss is being warm and cozy inside. I love my sweaters. I practically live in them to get through winter. So being able to wear them just a bit longer is a big bonus for me. Anyone else feel that way?!
That leads me to my first tip.
1. Pair Winter Sweaters with Light Weight Bottoms
In addition to tossing on a sweater over a dress, you can pair it with a skirt, some shorts, trousers, cropped pants, or any other spring like bottoms that you can’t wait to break out. I love doing this. I think it looks really cute and is a great way to get some extra wear out of your winter sweaters. Plus if you live somewhere colder (like I do) and it takes until like May to actually feel like spring, then you will gladly wear those sweaters as long as needed.

2. Wear Dresses and Skirts with Over the Knee Boots
Another one of my favorite tips is to pair your spring dresses and skirts with some over the knee boots. If it’s still pretty chilly you can also wear something a little warmer on top. That way you can break them out early and still have something to keep your legs warm.

3. Trade your Winter Jacket for Something Lighter
A denim jacket, trench coat, a suede or leather jacket, and really any other light weight jacket that suits your style are all perfect for this winter to spring wardrobe transition. You can opt for your winter long sleeve tops if it’s still fairly cold by you, or something short sleeves or sleeveless for warmer weather.

4. From Winter Boots to Rain Boots
Spring is know to be wet, so trade out those thick winter snow boots for some cute rubber rain boots. I personally have a pair of hunter boots which I love. You can go with a neutral to go with everything or a fun pop color.

5. Add in Some Spring Colors to your Winter Neutrals
It may seem like a no brianer but you can totally get more wear out of some of your winter neutrals (like a thicker blazer, a sweater or cardigan, or a thicker material pant or skirt to name some examples) by pairing them with some of the bright fun colors and prints of spring.
I included some lists of colors that will be big for this upcoming season and some runway inspiration. Try finding a blouse, skirt, dress or any other piece that you can layer or pair with your winter neutrals!

6. Layering is Key for Winter to Spring Wardrobe Changes
Layering is the best way to go from a winter to spring wardrobe. You can wear your cozy cardigan over a spring top or t-shirt for when it’s cooler and as the day warms up, shed a layer to stay cool. You can even double layer with a jacket over a sweatshirt if it’s still fairly chilly where you live.
For lighter layers try a chambray or denim top or a light weight blazer. You could pop those over a spring top or even a light weight sweater from your winter wardrobe!

7. Switch Out your Winter Accessories for Spring Ones
Say good bye to your thick knit scarves and beanies and those warm winter boots! Trade them for some light weight neck scarves, wide brim hats, open toed booties, and sneakers!
You can also add in some spring like bags such as something brightly colored or more of a warm weather material like straw!
