Fashion Juxtaposition
I love that fashion has no rules or boundaries and you can put together things that typically “don’t go” and they make a really cool look. One great example: leather and lace, why not mix super girly with super tough? That’s another thing to keep in mind when thrifting is to keep an open mind. That item may look dated on the hanger but if you pair it with the right things you can give it a whole new life. Here are two other juxtaposed looks that I love.
This super glam sequin crop top with a mixed media edgy jacket and black denim is an awesome look. The soft pink mixed with the olive green is an awesome color combination. Although technically not thrifted, this sequin top was a steal on sale for only $8.99! I liked the addition of the stacked pink pearl ring to add some interest.
This isn’t your grandmothers tweed blazer. Pair it with a cool graphic tee, lightly distressed denim, and booties and it’s a whole new look. I thrifted that blazer for $4 and wasn’t sure at first what I wanted to do with it but then I thought of how the colors in the jacket brought out the color in this tee and loved how they look together. The back is awesome with the giant full moon and I love the muscle tee cut so I can peek out a little lace bralette if I decide to lose the jacket for a bit. I added a more feminine necklace and bracelet but then some rings that brought back in a touch of edge to tie it all together.
