15 IKEA Finds to Fake A Designer Home
Hey Guys!
Interior design tends to be a daunting task that people often leave to the professionals. But not everyone can afford to hire someone to decorate their home. So that leaves you feeling overwhelmed with the endless styles and options, unsure if this goes with that. Then you end up with a home, decorated a little less than you originally hoped for.
That’s why I love places that make decorating easy.
It has been a while since I’ve been in an IKEA. Like years. Which is surprising because they have so many amazing things that are very budget friendly. I think they have seriously stepped up their décor game even more too. From what I saw they have tons of stuff to create a home that looks like it was professionally decorated.
I found 15 favorite things to easily fake a designer home. So if you’re curious how to do that, keep on reading!
Plants. Plants are something that every well designed home includes. They can be real or fake, placed in a cute pot or even in a woven basket like that one with the handles. IKEA has a TON of options. I found all these succulents which are super cute or they have a variety of other small plants to choose from as well. If you don’t have much of a green thumb they have lots of great faux plant options. My personal favorite is this eucalyptus and I also love that delicate floral stem.
It’s all in the details when it comes to professional decorating. Small things like vases add so much style to your home. They have so many great vases at IKEA. Some as simple as this set of 3 cylinder vases can pack a big punch believe it or not. Sometimes less really is more. If you want something with a little more style try these black and cream vases for a more contemporary feel or this adorable pitcher for that farmhouse vibe.
What you put on the walls will make a huge difference in the appearance of your home. There’s no reason you can’t display all your family photos, but having them in similar frames as a part of a gallery wall looks much more designer than having them scattered about throughout the house. I love these sleek black frames.
A stylish home can most definitely still have a cozy, homey vibe. A cozy blanket like this grey knit one or that super fuzzy white one will look great draped across part of your couch. That open basket would be a great place to store any other extra blankets or pillows you have! Area rugs also help cozy up hard floors while also adding color or texture to an otherwise empty space. Check out this post on how to add texture to your home for even more ideas, many go hand in hand with this post!
A well styled mantel is the cornerstone to a well designed room. Check out my post here for some great ways to style your mantel. I was stoked when I found this set of 3 black metal candlestick holders. I’ve been on the hunt for some for a while and these are a steal! They are made to live on a fireplace mantle.
Lastly, a well designed home wouldn’t be complete without candles. They are aesthetically pleasing and they smell divine. They can be placed throughout your home to add that little something extra. This mint and vanilla scented one sounds delicious.
So there you have 15 IKEA finds that will help you fake a designer home. Let me know which of these are your favorites and I will see you next time.
