There is something so satisfying about a beautifully organized pantry. No matter how big or small your space may be, there are some great products you can use to keep it well organized.
I love the idea of using different textures and types storage baskets, bins, and containers. You are still able to keep it clean and uniform by using several of the same types of different storage options.
Next we will get into all the different types of storage containers you can use. Obviously, there are many more options than just these, but these happen to be my personal favorites.
Woven Baskets
Woven Baskets are a great way to add some texture to your pantry. They are also a visually pleasing way to organize your pantry. You can get larger baskets to house big or bulky items like bags of chips, bread, baking supplies, napkins or other paperware, etc. You can use smaller baskets for things like produce, cooking oils and sprays, small snacks like individual bags of chips or cookies, and other things like that.
Wire Baskets
Wire baskets are the perfect modern farmhouse style storage bin, but they totally also fit in with just about any other type of home decorating style. That makes them perfect for DIY pantry organization.
They are great if you have little ones, since they will be able to easily see what is in each basket and find what they are looking for. You can get so many different styles to suit your personal decorating style.
You can also get ones that have a space to put a label or even a little chalk board where you can write what goes where. That way you can make sure things get put back in the right space when the baskets are empty, and little ones can help put groceries away!
Crates
I love using crates as storage bins. You can check out my son’s nursery way back when this blog was basically brand spankin new, and see how I used crates for storage in his room.
I love that some of these have little chalkboard signs on them to make it easy to label what is inside. You can get a variety of sizes and styles too depending on the size of your pantry and your needs.
I would organize both these, as well as the wire baskets I talked about above, wire baskets, the same way I described the baskets. You could also do a mix of all 3 types of storage baskets/bins!
Glass Containers
I am all about glass containers. I especially love the ones with the glass lids. The best thing about these is they are airtight so it will keep your stuff fresh for so long. You can save space by emptying out boxed items into these and not have to have a bunch of bulky boxes taking up space.
You can opt for wood lids, snap closure lids, glass lids, jars with labels, jars without labels. Plus they come in so many different size options. So think about all your pastas, grains, flours, snacks, cereals, candies, etc. that you regularly have in your pantry and pick up however many jars you need to house those types of items.
Plastic Containers
These are great if you have little ones. Much more durable and less breakable. I think we can all agree that these are necessary features of any product that will be handled by kids. These are also easy to use, especially the ones that have a pourable lid.
They come in many different varieties and sizes, some even come in huge variety packs which give you a great bang for your buck! Storage containers are really a must have for pantry organization. They can house things like cereal, pasta, nuts, chips, crackers, cookies, candies, baking goods, etc.
Spice Containers and Storage
If you’re someone who cooks a lot and therefore has a ton of spices, then this is perfect for you. You can opt for new glass containers which come with their own sticker labels to keep your spice race looking more neat and uniform.
There is a wide variety of storage options for spice containers. You could go for a tiered tray, something that adjusts would be great, you could get a rack that pulls out for easier access to items in a cabinet or other hard to see spot, or you could go for something that goes on the back of the pantry door too if you have a ton of cooking supplies!
Labels
Ok can we just all be in agreeance that pantry labels are so freaking cute?? I mean, not only are you mega organized that way, and know what goes where for everything in your pantry. But they look so cute!
There are a wide variety too so there is bound to be some that fit your style and needs. You can go for premade ones that have pretty writing. Or if you want more customizability, go for some that are blank that you can fill in yourself.
