L’Oreal Infallible Pro-Matte Foundation Review
Hey Guys!
I tried out the L’Oreal Paris Infallible Pro-Matte 24 Hour Foundation and want to share my review. I am always on the hunt for good drug store foundations so when I came across this one it looked promising. To learn more about this product and get my full review, just keep reading!
Packaging
I do like a couple things about the packaging, but there are also a couple cons in my opinion. It comes in a plastic squeeze tube with a narrow spout. I like how that really helps you be able to control how much product you dispense. It also is more sanitary since you don’t have to touch it to your skin, which is great. The down side is that it is nearly impossible to use all the product since you can’t reach inside the tube. I typically look for glass bottles with a pump. Glass is better for the environment and the pump is both sanitary and allows you to remove the lid to be able to get out product when it gets down to the last bit of it using a Q-tip.
Product
Before I get into my thoughts of this foundation I am simply going to talk about the product and what it claims to do. It is a long wearing, demi-matte finish. It is oil free which means it is great for oily/combo skin. It claims to last up to 24 hours, that is it light-weight, and that it will hide imperfections for a smooth, clear complexion. It doesn’t have a huge range of shades but does offer 12 different shades.
Review
After trying this for a couple weeks I found I have kind of a love-hate relationship with it. It does not go on smoothly as it claims and took quite a bit of blending to get the finish it claimed to have. Even after all that, I would not say it left me with a clear, smooth complexion. You could definitely see skin imperfections through the foundation, even after layering more on top and it clung to patches of skin no matter how hard I tried to blend it out. However, as the day went on and the natural oils of my skin started mixing with it, I found I really liked how it looked!
I wish it had a better shade selection because even the lightest shade which is what I bought, was a tad dark and I’m usually the 2nd or 3rd lightest shade. So anyone fairer than me would not be able to wear this. The color was also a tad too pink for me but the next shade up that had a bit more yellow to it, was definitely too dark for me.
One thing I can definitely say in its favor is that it really did last all day, which is a big plus. It didn’t slide around my face and didn’t get patchy so I was impressed by that. I noticed that it works better with a primer underneath. It also goes on a little smoother using a beauty blender rather than a brush.
Over all, I will continue to use this foundation and see if I can find a combination that works best for the application. There is a Pro-Glow version of this that I am trying out next so keep an eye out for that review in a future post. I most likely won’t buy this one again because it is just too much work to get it to work with my skin, but I would recommend trying it out because I could see this being a great foundation if it works well with your skin type.
Thanks for reading and I hope you found this information helpful!
