I am a thrifty gal who loves to DIY and find new uses for old things. I created this blog to inspire anyone and everyone to dress both yourself and your home in a way that makes you feel so good; without breaking the bank.
Do you have a hard time pinning down your home decorating or personal style? Do you struggle with putting outfits together? Find some treasures at the thrift store that you aren’t quite sure what to do with? Maybe you have an entire “I wish” closet on Pinterest that you love but don’t knw how to pull off yourself? If you are guilty of scrolling Instagram and Pinterest wishing that was your home or your closet then I am here to help!
I’ll show you how to figure out your style, how to decorate your home, just what I do with my thrift finds including how to style things, how to upcycle things, and how to DIY things for both your closet and your home. I will show you how to draw inspiration from your Pinterest and Instagram finds, while thrifting or shopping, to have a closet full of clothes you love to wear and a home you will love to show off.
Let’s not forget one of my favorite finishing touches to any ensemble, the makeup. I am no makeup artist but I certainly have had plenty of practice and can hopefully show you a thing or two along the way.
A little back story about me and how Thrifted & Taylor’d came to be. I had a really hard time figuring out what I wanted to be in this world. I ended up choosing Fashion Merchandising for my major with a minor in journalism. And right out of school I went to work in a retail position because I couldn’t quite figure out what I wanted to do with this degree.
Then I eventually went to work for Forever 21 as a visual merchandiser and then was promoted after 2 years to the visual merchandising manager. It was a really cool job but it was so stressful! And I wasn’t fully satisfied. It wasn’t fulfilling.
So I took a major left turn and left that job to become a nanny. Because if there is one thing I am sure about, it’s that I absolutely adore children.
Then I had my son. And I knew I needed to be home with him.
I wanted to experience all of his firsts, and just cherish those magical years when they’re little because they go fast.
I had started this blog as a little hobby while I was nannying because I loved thrifting, and fashion, and home décor, and doing DIY projects, and I wanted to share it with whomever wanted to read.
After becoming a mom and wanting to be home but also wanting my own income, I decided I wanted to put all of my effort into this blog and make it a job I love doing every day. A job that could make a difference in someone’s life in some way. By inspiring them and helping them create a home they are proud of and a wardrobe they love to wear. And by showing them that they don’t have to spend a ton of money doing so.
So welcome, friend. Thanks for stopping by and taking the time to read. Click below to visit different areas of the blog and to follow me on social media if you would like to connect there!
